Acts as a school official under FERPA 34 CFR § 99.31(a)(1)(i)(B). Schools may consent on parents’ behalf for educational use, consistent with long-standing FTC COPPA guidance. The amended COPPA Rule’s compliance date was April 22, 2026.

Questions districts ask before signing.

Is there a free option for small schools?

Yes — the free INCLUXA browser extension: personal accessibility tools on every website staff and students visit, no account needed (Chrome; Edge coming soon). For accessibility coverage on your school website, contact us for pricing. There is no free tier of the Schools plan.

How does the Schools DPA work?

Once your account is on the Schools plan, the district agreement appears under Settings → Schools. The Owner records district info, signatory name, state, data region (which selects the regional addendum) and the retention period. The signed agreement unlocks IEP automation, the teacher dashboard and LMS connections.

What student data do you actually store?

We store an opaque student ID, the accommodation types, a short description and a supporting quote from the redacted IEP (encrypted at rest), plus the uploaded file name. The IEP file itself is deleted right after parsing. Teachers review every suggestion before anything is applied. We act as a school official under FERPA § 99.31(a)(1)(i)(B), and schools may consent on parents’ behalf for educational use under COPPA.

What LMS integrations are supported?

Canvas, Moodle, D2L Brightspace, Blackboard, and Schoology via LTI 1.3. Launches are JWKS-validated and students are identified by the LMS-issued user ID; we don’t store the names or emails an LMS sends. An Owner or Admin adds connections in Settings → Schools once the district agreement is signed.

Can we pay by purchase order?

Yes. K-12 customers can pay by ACH or PO with Net-30 terms. Annual contracts are available. Large districts and multi-district networks use a master contract — contact us for pricing.

How is K-12 pricing quoted?

K-12 pricing is quoted for each school or district based on school count and the features you need (IEP pipeline, LTI 1.3, state-specific DPA). Contact us for pricing — we typically reply within one business day and can structure the quote around your board-approval and procurement process.

Will the widget stop working if billing lapses?

Only if the subscription ends. If a contract lapses without renewal, or payment ultimately fails, the widget on your district sites pauses until the plan is renewed — your account and settings are kept. K-12 contracts are invoiced on PO / Net-30 terms, so contact us early if renewal approval is running late.
